Behind the camera

Hello there,

I am Kati a Finnish lady based in Helsinki whose heart belongs in New York. The wanderlust in me makes me always plan and dream about new trips either in Finland or around the world. I love to hike in the forests or just sit by the water front and mesmerize the sunsets. I love sunrises too, yet I am not too good waking up early and I love slow mornings and need some coffee before I get out of the house so I unfortunately usually miss the sunrises.

I am a mother of three boys and I have always loved kids.  I often get feedback about my capability to communicate with children and how well I handle the few days old babies. But besides the kids I love to take all kind of pictures and meet new people. I have been said to have really good eye on details and somehow I always see the life through the lense even if there is no even cameras around.

I started my photographing company only one year ago but the love towards photographing been there basically ever since I was born. My first memory of holding a camera dates back to the time I was around three years old. By the time I was 10 I was taking portraits of my little sister with my mom's film pocket camera. But it took years and years before I developed the understanding that I could actually work as a photographer and it's kind of funny that other people around me pushed me towards it when myself was still hesitating.

The love and courage I have received from my family members, friends and fellow photographers is something I am forever grateful! The journey has begun.
